Family Medicine & New Hampshire CME Requirements

  • American Board of Family Medicine

      • At a Glance

      • 150 Category 1 CME hours every 3 years
      • 50 SAM Points every 3 years
      • By the end of year 10

        • 1 ABFM MC-FP Examination

      The American Board of Family Medicine requires that 150 hours of Category 1 CME hours every 3 years, starting with Physicians last certified 2011 and beyond. CME can be accumulated on an ongoing basis during each 3 year stage in the continuous MC-FP process. CME credits must be submitted/verified by the 3 year stage deadlines.

      Physicians last certified 2003-2010 will be required to submit 300 hours of acceptable CME accumulated during the six (6) calendar years prior to the examination year. CME credits must be submitted/verified by the published deadline for completing all application components

        100 total hours every 2 years

      The New Hampshire State Board of Medicine requires 100 CME hours every two years.
      Credit for courses is reported to the New Hampshire Medical Society.
