The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation requires 150 CME credits over a 3 year renewal period. A minimum of 40% (60 hours) of the required CME hours shall be obtained in formal CME programs. (The entire 150 hour requirement may be completed in Category 1). A maximum of 60% (90 hours) of the required CME hours may be obtained in informal CME programs or activities. 3 hours must be on safe opioid prescribing practices.
