Preventive Medicine-specific Improvement in Medical Practice (IMP) activity requirement
By the end of year 10
Diplomates whose 10-year Certification Cycle ends on or before January 31, 2023 must take and pass the MOC Exam for the Specialty and/or Subspecialty for which Recertification is being sought.
A total of 100 Category 1 ACCME hours (years 1-10)
1 ABPM-approved Patient Safety Course

Diplomates of the ABPM shall, for each calendar year of 2020, 2021, and 2022, be required to complete 25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM, or its equivalent.

The New Mexico Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners requires 75 Category 1 CME hour every three years. This requirements can alternatively be fulfilled through active membership in the AOA, certification or re-certification of a specialty board, or passage of the SPEX (special purpose examination) with a minimum score of 75%.

You can also fulfill this requirement by obtaining any of the following : the AMA Physician Recognition Award, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) certificate of continuing education, or certification or re-certification by an AMBS approved specialty board during the renewal period.
