The Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery requires 40 CME hours every 2 years, due on either the end of an even or odd year (dependent upon your birth year). Of these credits, at least 24 must be AOA Category 1 credits.
3 CME hours relating to the safe prescribing of opioids
40 AMA/AOA Category 1/Category 2 credits.
The Arizona Medical Board requires 40 CME hours over a two year licensure period. The board does not allow for rollover credits.
The physician shall ensure at least 3 of the credit hours of continuing medical education are certified as Category 1 and addresses the effective and safe prescribing of opioids;
