The American Board of Internal Medicine requires 1 MOC activity every 2 years (which counts towards the MOC points for the current 5-year period), 100 MOC Points every 5 years, and passing of the MOC Exam within 10 years of last passing the exam.
The Maryland Board of Physicians requires 50 Category 1 CME hours every two years. Effective October 1, 2018: New and Renewal Applicants must attest to the completion of 2 Hours of Continuing Education,
related to the Prescribing or Dispensing of Controlled Substances, when applying for a CDS registration.
