A minimum of 75 AMA Category 1 CME credits is required every three years. At least 25 of these must be Self-Assessment CME (SA-CME). In addition to ABR-prequalified SAMs, the ABR will count all AMA Category 1 CME activities in “enduring materials” (including web-based and print) and “journal-based CME” formats toward the SA-CME requirement. CME products without self-assessment instruments are eligible only for CME credit.
2 CME Credits of Prescribing and Monitoring Controlled Substances.
The South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners requires 40 AMA, AOA, or other board-approved organization Category 1 hours. Of these hours, a minimum of 30 must be on a subject directly related to the licensee's practice area, and a minimum of 2 hours must be on the subject of approved procedures of prescribing and monitoring controlled substances.
In this online self-assessment activity, you'll test your knowledge with more than 750 Pain Medicine case-style review questions and earn CME credits as you go. Review your responses with detailed, evidence-based rationales with references and earn up to 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to meet your career requirements.
Continuing Education requirements change often. We monitor the boards regularly to stay current, but if any information appears out of date, contact us and let us know.
