The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation requires 150 Category 1 credits every 5 years, of which a minimum of 50% must relate to the physician's specialty or subspecialty. The Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery requires 150 CME hours every three years, of which 60 hours must be osteopathic related courses or programs designated as Category 1 or Category 3. Effective Dec. 20th, 2017, a minimum of 3 hours of CME will be required in the area of Pain and Symptom Management.
