The American Board of Pathology requires 70 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits. Eighty percent of required CME must be directly related to the diplomate’s scope of practice. The remainder may be in areas of general relevance to medicine (e.g. ethics, practice management, informatics, etc.)
The Vermont Board of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons requires 30 CME hours every two years, with a minimum of 12 applied to osteopathic medical education.
2 Safe and Effective Prescribing of Controlled Substances (Only physicians that prescribe substances).
1 Hospice, Palliative Care, or Pain Management.
Every two years, the Vermont Board of Medical Practice requires 30 AMA PRA Category 1 hours. Of these hours, 1 must be in hospice, palliative care, or pain management.
Due to the passage of Act 173, beginning with license renewals due Nov. 2018, all physicians with a DEA number, pending application for a DEA number, or who dispense controlled substances will be required to show they have completed a total of at least 2 hours over the course of the previous 2-year licensing cycle - rather than the current one hour - of continuing education on the topic of prescribing controlled substances.
In this online self-assessment activity, you'll test your knowledge with more than 1000 Dermatology case-style review questions and earn CME credits as you go. Review your responses with detailed, evidence-based rationales with references.
