      The American Board of Pathology requires 70 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits, of which 20 must be Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs), every 2 years.
      AOA Category 1-A credits and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Accredited Group Learning (Section 1) credits in General Pathology are accepted as equivalent to AMA Category 1 CME credits.
      RCPSC Assessment (Section 3) credits are accepted as equivalent to SAM credits.

        100 total hours every 2 years

      • 20 20 AMA PRA Category 1.
      • 12 Patient Safety and/or Risk Management.
      • 2 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting.

      The Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine requires 100 CME hours every 2 years. Of these hours, a minimum of 20 must be AMA PRA Category 1, a minimum of 12 must be on the subjects of patient safety and/or risk management, and a minimum of 2 must be on the subject of child abuse recognition and reporting. The remaining credits may be completed through any combination of Category 1 or Category 2 activities. Credits on the subjects of office management or practice building will not be accepted.

      • 20 AOA Category 1-A.
      • 12 Category 1 or Category 2 on Patient Safety and/or Risk Management.

      The Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine requires 100 CME hours every 2 years. Of these hours, a minimum of 20 must be AOA Category 1-A activities, a minimum of 12 hours must be Category 1 or Category 2 activities on the subject of patient safety and risk management. The remaining credits may be completed through any combination of Category 1 or Category 2 activities.
