Urology & Hawaii CME Requirements

      • At a Glance

      • By the end of year 4

        • 90 Category 1 CME hours
      • By the end of year 6

        • 1 Patient Safety Module
        • 1 Complete Ethics Module
      • By the end of year 7

        • 90 Category 1 CME hours
      • By the end of year 9

        • MOC Exam (years 7-9)

      The American Board of Urology requires 90 CME hours, 30 of which must be CME Category 1 Credits, to be submitted every 3 years (at level 2 and level 4).
      At year 6, physicians are required to complete 1 Patient Safety Module and 1 Complete Ethics Module.

  • Hawaii Board of Medical Examiners

      • At a Glance

        40 total hours every 2 years

      • 40 Category 1 or 1-A.
      • 20 Category 1 or 1-A (for Physicians licensed between 2014-2015).

      The Hawaii Medical Board requires Physicians to complete 40 Category 1 or 1-A credits every two years. If you initially received your license prior to 2/1/14, you will be required to complete 40 Category 1 or 1A hours. If you initially received your license between 2/1/14 and 1/31/15, only 20 hours are required. Beginning with the 2018 renewal and thereafter, the usual 40 will be required.


      The Hawaii Medical Board requires Osteopathic Physicians to complete 40 Category 1 or 1-A credits every two years. If you initially received your license prior to 7/1/14, you will be required to complete 40 Category 1 or 1A hours. If you initially received your license between 7/1/14 and 6/30/15, only 20 hours are required. Beginning with the 2018 renewal and thereafter, the usual 40 will be required.
