The American Board of Otolaryngology requires 25 AMA Category 1 CME credits every year. Of these hours, a minimum of 60% must be on the subject of Otolaryngology. Learners must complete a computer based exam in the last three years of each 10-year recertification cycle. Learners must also complete Improvement in Medical Practice Activities including a patient survey, a peer survey, and participate in a registry that will be the basis for quality improvement activities.Source

Colorado Physicians are not required by the Colorado Medical Board to obtain continuing education. However, Physician Assistants are required one hundred hours of CME every two years, including 25 hours of Category 1 CME within the past twelve months. Renewal of licenses is required every two years.Source
