PANCE/PANRE Exam Tips
"Be careful on the pharma questions…"
We often hear from students that you should know the following about prescribing medications: which drugs not to prescribe to treat which conditions, potential side effects, and complications of drugs.
The PANCE emphasizes in patient safety, so this question bank has several blocks of questions to cover this content area. Specifically, focus on CV drugs, neuro/psych drugs, and antimicrobials. Remember to spend time on EKG's as well.
What to Focus On
Focus on the systems with the higher percentages of exam content. For example, hematologic questions can be really tough, but it’s only a small percentage of the exam. Therefore, you may want to focus more on areas like cardiovascular, GI, and musculoskeletal.
As a benchmark, our average score in the question bank is below 60%, but nearly everyone passes. We recommend flagging particularly difficult questions so that you have a good review session 1.5 - 2 weeks before the exam.
