The Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine annually requires 35 CME hours. The Board shall, by regulation, require each osteopathic physician or physician assistant who is registered to dispense controlled substances pursuant to NRS 453.231 to complete at least 2 hours of training relating specifically to the misuse and abuse of controlled substances, the prescribing of opioids or addiction during each period of licensure.

If your license was issued prior to July 1, 2017, The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners requires 40 hours of AMA Category 1 credits. Of these hours, 20 must be in physician's area of practice, and 2 in either Medical Ethics, Pain Management, or Addiction Care and 2 hours in misuse and abuse of controlled substances, the prescribing of opioids, or addiction. If you are a medical doctor whose specialty is Psychiatry, you are also required to complete a minimum of 2 hours in the area of suicide prevention and awareness. The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners requires: 40 Hours if licensed during the first 6 months of the biennial period of registration (July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 of year one). 2 Medical Ethics, 20 in scope of practice, 18 anything else AMA Category 1. 30 Hours if licensed during the second six months of the biennial period of registration (January 1, 2018 through June 30, 2018 of year one). 2 Medical Ethics, 15 scope of practice, 13 anything else AMA Category 1. 20 Hours if licensed during the third six months of the biennial period of registration (July 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018 of year two). 2 Medical Ethics, 10 scope of practice, 8 anything else AMA Category 1. 10 Hours if licensed during the fourth six months of the biennial period of registration (January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019 of year two). 2 Medical Ethics , 5 scope of practice, 3 anything else AMA Category 1.
