The American Board of Ophthalmology requires 250 AMA PRA Category 1 credits every 10 years. For certificates expiring on or before 12/31/2020, 25 hours must be completed each year. For certificates expiring on 12/13/2021 or later, an average of 25 hours over the 10 year period is sufficient.
Of these hours, a minimum of 200 must be on the subject of Ophthalmology.

The Hawaii Medical Board requires Physicians to complete 40 Category 1 or 1-A credits every two years. If you initially received your license prior to 2/1/14, you will be required to complete 40 Category 1 or 1A hours. If you initially received your license between 2/1/14 and 1/31/15, only 20 hours are required. Beginning with the 2018 renewal and thereafter, the usual 40 will be required.

If you initially received your license prior to 7/1/14, you will be required to complete 40 Category 1 or 1A hours. If you initially received your license between 7/1/14 and 6/30/15, only 20 hours are required. Beginning with the 2018 renewal and thereafter, the usual 40 will be required.
