What to expect on the ABB Certification Exam?

The American Board of Bioanalysis exam is designed to test fundamental general laboratory knowledge and, at a minimum, one of the following specialties:

  • Andrology
  • Chemistry (including urinalysis, endocrinology and toxicology)
  • Diagnostic Immunology
  • Embryology
  • Hematology (including flow cytometry)
  • Microbiology (includes bacteriology, parasitology, virology, and mycology)
  • Molecular Diagnostics
  • Public Health Microbiology

This exam is frequently taken by PhDs who are looking to enter into lab management. Many of the users who engage with our question bank are looking to run an independent lab.
