The American Board of Ophthalmology requires 250 AMA PRA Category 1 credits every 10 years. For certificates expiring on or before 12/31/2020, 25 hours must be completed each year. For certificates expiring on 12/13/2021 or later, an average of 25 hours over the 10 year period is sufficient. Of these hours, a minimum of 200 must be on the subject of Ophthalmology. Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine

40 total hours every 2 years

40 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
3 hours on prescribing opioid medications

The Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine requires 40 Category I CME hours every two years. Licensees with prescriptive authority are required 3 hours on the prescribing of opioid medication every renewal. Physicians Assistants must obtain a minimum of 100 hours of CME, with at least 40 hours in Category 1. The remaining 60 hours may be either Category 1 or Category 2. Physician Assistants must complete 3 hours of Category 1 credit CME every two years on the prescribing of opioid medication.
